Job Description: Accounting Intern Location: Glenview, IL Internship Dates: Summer 2027 Hourly Pay: $23.95 Why This Role Matters As an Accounting Intern with ITW Mechanical Fastening, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting Finance and Operations while developing skills in accounting, financial reporting, data analytics, and process improvement. This role combines traditional accounting exposure with a meaningful business project focused on improving how key financial and operational information is organized, reported, and used to support decision-making. Working alongside Finance and Operations leaders, you'll contribute to real business initiatives while building experience that prepares you for a future career in accounting or finance. What You'll Do Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and related financial reporting tasks. Partner with Finance and Operations to develop reporting tools that improve access to key financial and operational information and support business decision-making. Organize, validate, and analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, improve reporting, and generate business insights. Evaluate current reporting processes and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve efficiency. Explore how AI and automation tools can improve the efficiency, consistency, and accessibility of financial reporting while validating outputs for accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present project outcomes, insights, recommendations, and key learnings to division leadership at the conclusion of the internship. What You Need to Succeed Must-Have Rising senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and comfort working with large data sets. Resourceful, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a dynamic business environment. Nice-to-Have Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting and data visualization tools. Exposure to AI, automation, or process improvement initiatives. Previous internship, project, or coursework related to accounting, finance, reporting, or business analytics.
