Accounting Intern

Status: Temporary, Full-time

Location: Head Office

Salary: Hourly Wage: $22.00

Schedule: Mondays to Fridays - 8am to 4pm

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Controller, this position is responsible for reviewing and updating accounting and payroll processes and procedures.

Typical Duties:

• Compile all accounting and payroll related procedures and highlight them for review and updates.
• Assist and review the accounts receivable process and update the process manuals.
• Assist and review the rent collection process and update the process manuals.
• Assist and review the trust disbursements, account opening/closing, fees collection and bank reconciliation processes and update the process manuals.
• Assist and review the accounts payable process and update the process manuals.
• Assist and review the cash and cheques deposits process and update the process manuals.
• Assist, review and update the accounting standard operating procedures.
• Assists in ad-hoc tasks when assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Ideally, you have completed the 1st year of a recognized Accounting Program.

Ability to provide or obtain:

      -WHIMIS certification

      -Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance
