Position Summary

The Accounting Intern supports the Finance and Accounting team with accounting operations, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit preparation, and process documentation. The role provides practical exposure to corporate accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, internal controls, payment operations, and financial systems while developing professional accounting skills in a collaborative environment.

Essential Responsibilities

·         Assist with account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules.

·         Support month-end close workpapers, journal entry documentation, account analysis, and financial reporting.

·         Research reconciling items, unusual balances, and accounting discrepancies under supervision.

·         Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable research, aging reviews, invoice support, and payment discrepancies.

·         Organize audit support, reconciliation evidence, and other accounting documentation.

·         Update Finance SOPs, process maps, checklists, and training materials.

·         Assist with ERP reports, saved searches, data validation, and system testing.

·         Support treasury, commercial card, supplier payment, and internal control projects as assigned.

·         Analyze financial data, communicate findings, and maintain clear workpaper documentation.

·         Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

·         Observe and participate in typical office functions to gain practical experience with workplace expectations, professional conduct, and administrative processes.

Required Qualifications

·         Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

·         Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical ability, and follow-through.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or collaboratively under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Prior accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or internship experience.

·         Exposure to NetSuite or another ERP system.

·         Experience with spreadsheets, reconciliations, financial data, or process documentation.
