Stratford Homes LP has been the leader of highly customized modular homes since 1973. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and customer service.
The Accounting Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, vendor management, and financial recordkeeping. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Essential Functions
- Perform Accounts Payable/Receivable transactions, including invoice entry, credit memos, payment processing, and account maintenance.
- Prepare and process vendor invoices and associate expense reports for payment.
- Process weekly payroll and prepare payroll-related reports.
- Reconcile accounting records and verify information for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, employees, and internal departments regarding accounting-related matters.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities as assigned.
- Assist with semi-annual inventory activities as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with some flexibility with start and ends times).
Required Education and Experience
- High school or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in administrative, bookkeeping, accounting support, or related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and work with a high degree of attention to detail.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related financial operations.
- Experience with accounting and payroll software.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a similar business environment.
