Position Description:

Somacis is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This is position designed for someone interested in developing a career in accounting and gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

The primary focus of this role will be supporting accounts receivable , including invoicing, payment application, customer account maintenance, and collections follow-up. The Accountant will also provide support to accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed. 

This position offers the opportunity to gain practical experience across multiple areas of accounting. As knowledge and experience develop, the Accountant may take on additional responsibilities in accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliations, month-end close, and other general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process customer invoices
• Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
• Maintain worksheets to insure all bank requirements are met for all receivables accounts
• Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances
• Assist with account reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries as assigned
• Maintain organized accounting documentation
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Assist with audits
• Prepare reports in Excel
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelors’ degree in finance or a related field
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of SAP a plus
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Skills in all Microsoft office forms
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing field is a plus
