Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant to support our client's accounting team with general ledger maintenance, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys hands-on accounting work and can work independently while taking on projects while ensuring accuracy and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities

• Review and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end close.
• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances or unusual transactions.
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Reconcile fixed asset activity to the general ledger.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting and audits.
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support internal controls by maintaining organized documentation and following accounting policies.
• Partner with internal departments to research accounting issues and ensure accurate financial data.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform other accounting projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines in a part-time environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, hospitality, construction, or other multi-entity environments.
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus but not required.
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting.

• Part-time (approximately 20–30 hours per week; flexible schedule)
• Hybrid or WFH based on business needs
