Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience to support key accounting operations in a remote-first, multi-national software business. This role reports to the Controller and will play an important role in the day-to-day execution of accounting activities, month-end close support and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, can work independently and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and teamwork is essential.

What You'll Do

• Support monthly close activities and help ensure close is completed accurately and on time
• Prepare journal entries and assigned balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
• Process and maintain accounts payable transactions, vendor records and related reconciliations
• Support accounts receivable activities including invoicing, cash application, payment tracking and aging reviews
• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial data
• Investigate discrepancies, identify unusual transactions and escalate issues appropriately
• Help ensure consistency and accuracy between operational systems and the general ledger
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with external audit requests, tax support activities and other accounting projects as needed
• Collaborate with the Controller and broader team to support ongoing accounting operations

What Success Looks Like

• Assigned close responsibilities are completed accurately and on schedule each month
• Assigned balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled with issues identified and escalated appropriately
• AP aging reports are maintained accurately and consistently
• Customer invoicing, payment activity and related reconciliations are handled accurately and on time
• Accounting records and supporting documentation are organized, complete and audit-ready
• The person in this role can work independently, exercise sound judgment and help reduce day-to-day workload on the broader accounting team

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Approximately 2 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of month-end close processes and core accounting principles
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required
• Experience with Dynamics NAV is a plus
• Strong Excel skills including lookups, reconciliations and data analysis
• Ability to work independently, identify issues and make thoughtful recommendations when something appears unusual
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift and where strong communication and follow-through are important
