Eastern Controls is seeking a Staff Accountant / Financial Analyst to join our growing finance team. This role offers far more than traditional accounting as you will partner with leaders across Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Finance to help drive business decisions, improve processes, and support the continued growth of our organization.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including both public accounting and industry exposure, who has participated in month-end close activities and supported a budget or forecasting process.
What You'll Do
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Assist with monthly close and financial reporting activities
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpapers
- Analyze monthly and year-to-date financial results
- Prepare quarterly and annual sales incentive calculations
- Support annual external audit requirements
- Partner with Sales leadership on planning and financial analysis
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast
- Review expense coding and support accounts payable processes
- Assist in developing departmental performance metrics and incentive calculations
Operational Finance & Process Improvement
- Support operational transaction processing and commission accounting
- Analyze purchasing and inventory activity
- Assist with ERP data integrity and customer master maintenance
- Review sales tax processes and support compliance initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes and internal controls
Business Projects
- Prepare financial reporting for leadership meetings
- Assist with 3rd party audits and compliance reviews
- Support data analysis and strategic business initiatives
- Participate in continuous improvement projects across the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and industry experience
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statements
- Hands-on exposure to month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and related financial reporting support
- Experience supporting an annual budget, forecast, or budget-to-actual analysis process
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
