Support the financial related processes in the facility by maintaining and analyzing accounting records and ensuring accuracy of data for all corresponding systems which include general ledger, accounts payable, time and attendance, payroll, patient accounting/accounts receivable, bad debt, supply chain, physical inventory, internal control process fixed assets, and all other systems utilized by the financial services area.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                         

• Understands principles of accounting and statistical analysis to maintain general accounting systems.
• Prepare and post entries to general ledgers with minimal supervision.
• Assists in the preparation of financial statements with accuracy, completeness, reliability and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank statements and sub-ledgers monthly.
• Maintain strong understanding to the financial software systems in order to ensure proper posting to the general ledger.
• Interface with department directors regarding variances in financial reports.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Prepare for financial audit and coordinate the audit process.
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times as observed by peers and management.
• Acts as backup to accounts payable and payroll.

BASIC SKILLS                                                                                                                                                                     

• Computer knowledge
• Above average knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED                                                                                              

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Three (3) years experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS                                                                                                                                                          

• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                                                                                                                                                     

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and stoop/kneed as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
