Sr. Payroll Specialist

Since our founding in 1981, we have served customers through the talent of extraordinary team members committed to customer focus, growth, valuing each other, safety and quality, and a sense of urgency.   As a member of our payroll team, you will play a critical role in processing the payroll for our corporate and field employees. Using good judgment and leveraging company best practices, you will manage high volume payroll tasks across multiple entities and pay groups. The ability to interact with field employees and managers in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role. Process multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payroll Ensure timecards are submitted and reviewed prior to processing payroll Process payroll adjustments, salary changes, bonus payments, commissions and other ad hoc payroll items Assist employees and managers with payroll-related inquiries via phone, email or ticketing system Collaborate with other members of the payroll team and HR department to ensure accurate payroll processing Review tax, garnishment and deduction information for employees Generate payroll reports as needed Contribute to the department's goals of process improvement and documentation, including maintaining updated checklists and SOPs Generate certified payroll reports through Points North and LCP tracker on a weekly basis in adherance with reporting deadlines 4 – 7 years payroll experience processing multi-state payroll for 2,000+ employees Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work in a fast pace environment in both team and individual settings Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Dimensions, TCR or Salesforce preferred Experience with Certified Payroll preferred   What you will love: Benefits eligible 1st of the month following hire All traditional benefits offered, including 3 medical plan options and 2 dental plan options, as well as additional benefits such as Legal and Identity Shield, Accident, and Critical Illness Company paid 50k in basic life insurance Company paid LTD Health Savings and Flex Spending Accounts Available 401(k) Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays AWP named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2023 and 2025 for Diversity   AWP Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
