Health & Insurance Benefits

Time Off & Holidays
- We offer a combined paid time off (PTO) policy which incorporates state paid sick leave with company paid time off at an accrual rate of 0.0607 per hour worked, equivalent to 120 hours of PTO at 2,080 hours worked in a year. The PTO accrual rate increases after two years of service and again after five years of service.
- We offer 6 Paid Holidays (8 hours - full time, 6 hours - part-time per event, excluding on-call staff) and 1 Personal Holiday of Choice per year (excluding on-call staff).

Enrich the lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Senior Accountant role. The senior accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity, transparency, and compliance of our organization across senior living communities and services. This position is responsible for complex accounting functions, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, supporting decision-making that directly impacts operational sustainability and resident care. The Senior Accountant partners closely with finance leadership, operations, and clinical teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements. You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities
Essential functions of this position include the following.
Financial Reporting & Close Process
- Assist with monthly, quarterly & annual close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid, and other accounting adjustments.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and cash activity across multiple accounts and entities.
- Produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure integrity of general ledger and supporting documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives.
Regulatory & Healthcare Accounting Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Washington State healthcare and senior living regulations (e.g., Medicaid/Medicare reporting where applicable)
- Support cost reporting and audits related to long-term care and assisted living.
- Maintain documentation to support DOH/DSHS audits and financial reviews.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and responses.
Operational Finance Support
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual covenant reporting, regulatory reporting, and other financial compliance requirements.
- Assist leadership with financial analysis and decision-support reporting.
- Assist in annual property tax filing, 990 & annual surveys.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for leadership.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the development of budget templates and assisting in the budgeting process.
- Works closely with the Controller and senior accountants to help design standardized tools, facilitate training, and ensure an accurate and efficient budgeting process across departments.
- Model financial scenarios related to census, staffing, and reimbursement changes.
Accounts & Systems Oversight
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities for accuracy.
- Ensure proper internal controls and segregation of duties.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial and compliance risks.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvement.
- Document accounting procedures and maintain SOPs.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy
Our requirements and qualifications for success
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or regulated environments
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate data into insights that support operational decisions.
- Attention to Detail: Prominent level of accuracy in financial reporting and compliance work.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with finance, operations, and clinical leaders
- Accountability: Follows through on commitments and maintains strong internal controls
- Continuous Improvement: Identifies and implements process enhancements.
Preferred
- CPA or CPA-eligible
- Experience with Medicaid/Medicare cost reporting
- Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-site operations.
- Familiarity with Washington State regulatory environment for healthcare or long-term care
Physical, environmental, and mental requirements
- Office-based with occasional travel to communities (if applicable)
- Standard business hours with additional time during close cycles or audits

- Ability to sit, stand, or walk at-will throughout shift; lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary Range: $80,318.58 to $115,582.48 per year
