Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the P&L of two ultra-deepwater drillships operating in the Gulf of Mexico, including revenue preparation ($300-$350 million annually), cost tracking, and variance analysis
Playing an active role in quarterly forecasting and financial planning processes
Serving as a key business partner to Operations, helping translate operational performance into financial insights and decision-making
Mentoring junior analysts and accountants and supporting the onboarding and development of new team members
Preparation and submission of monthly customer invoices with full support and maintenance of same within accounting system
Following up with customers and coordinate with operations to ensure contract terms for payment/collections are adhered to
Monthly and Quarterly balance sheet account analysis of cost center and entity driven accounts for the responsible cost centers and Business Units
Compilation of Monthly Budget Variance (BudVar) analysis report inclusive of applicable variance explanations/notes in accordance with month end timetable and structure
Ensure the correct local business rules for entity accounting are adhered to
Quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation for rigs and cost centers assigned
Adhoc requests and analysis as required by supervisor to support role and business. Also assigned to specific accounting projects. Preparation of contracts summary and review with Rig Manager and Supervisor
Involved in fiscal compliance of indirect taxes

Education:

Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: CPA or CA

Experience:

Minimum Required: Six years in Accounting
Preferred: Drilling Contractor or O&G background
