Senior Accountant – Fully Remote / Work From Home

A San Diego, California–based company is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote position available to candidates nationwide. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and comfortable working in a multi-faceted environment. Must be reliable, accurate, a conscientious and responsive communicator, attentive to detail, and able to maintain a positive attitude. Requires the ability to prioritize based on company objectives, multitask effectively, and manage tasks independently.

The company operates in multi-states, providing staffing services for both government and private sector. Candidate has an exceptional work ethic and is subject to a background check. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Primary responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and reconciling account information
• Responsible for journal entries and general ledger
• Review and reconcile bank statements
• Full Accounts Payable and Receivable processing and managing
• Process semi-monthly payroll (Paychex knowledge)
• Manage multi-state reporting requirements and compliance
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Requisite Skills and Abilities:

• High proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop)
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Good analytical skills
• Payroll processing knowledge on tax withholdings and journal entries
• Attention to confidentiality and security
• High level of accuracy, organizational and time-management skills
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Conscientious communication skills, both verbal and written
• Research and troubleshooting skills via computer and manual resources
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 5+ years of solid accounting experience

Compensation:  

• Salary range up to $88,000 per year, based on experience
