Position Overview Tailored Management is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our CFO in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, forecasting, and business analysis initiatives. This role offers broad exposure across accounting, financial planning, and executive partnership responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, providing actionable business insights, identifying trends, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with business acumen and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to leadership stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning initiatives
- Perform variance analysis and root-cause investigations to identify and resolve financial or operational issues
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain recurring financial reporting for executive stakeholders
- Prepare presentations and communicate financial results, recommendations, and business impacts to leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting efficiency, and financial visibility
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting best practices
- Experience managing general ledger functions and preparing financial statements
- Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting activities
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience within a professional services, staffing, consulting, or similar service-based organization
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized business environment
- CPA designation or CPA-track experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify underlying business drivers
- Ability to translate financial data into meaningful recommendations for leadership
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
