Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location:  Neosho, Missouri

Schedule:  Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but may expand during close, year-end, or audit

Compensation: Salaried position based on experience

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role on the accounting team by performing some of the most critical accounting tasks necessary for timely and accurate financial reporting. 

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will:

• Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end close process
• Assist the Accounting Manager in compiling backup documentation for financial workpapers
• Prepare project billings, including coordination with project management staff
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
• Maintain cash records, including bank reconciliations and cash receipts records
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, (candidates with associate's degree in Accounting or relevant experience will be considered)
• Minimum 3-5 years progressive accounting experience, particularly in the construction industry, preferred
• Familiarity with job costing, work-in-process concepts, or project-based billing is welcome, though we are glad to train the right candidate

Desired Skills/Attributes:

• Detail-oriented and organized, with the discipline to meet recurring close deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel 
• Able to work independently while keeping the Accounting Manager informed
• Comfortable working with, and asking questions of, people outside the accounting department
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
