London Drugs is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis across a diverse group of companies. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA (or CPA candidate) who thrives in a fast-paced, general ledger–intensive environment and enjoys working with complex, multi-entity accounting structures.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries, including intercompany and related-party transactions
- Perform GL account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules (prepaids, accruals, leases)
- Manage fixed assets and capital projects (CIP), including depreciation, roll-forwards, and reconciliations
- Conduct variance analysis to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Support financial close processes and ensure accuracy of financial reporting across multiple entities
- Prepare audit working papers and collaborate with external auditors
- Complete regulatory reporting and submissions (including Statistics Canada reporting)
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to process improvements and special projects within Finance
- CPA designation or final stage (passed Final exam and working on qualifying practical experience requirements)
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and technical accounting principles
- Experience with full-cycle accounting and general ledger processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including PowerQuery, PowerPivot)
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., D365, PeopleSoft)
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Clear communicator who collaborates effectively across teams
- Retail or multi-entity experience is considered an asset.
