We value transparency, accountability, and responsible financial stewardship to ensure our programs continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and assisting with timely reporting to leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. The Senior Accountant works closely with executive leadership to support sound financial management and organizational sustainability.DutiesFinancial Management & Reporting• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing support, and cash reconciliations• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP• Maintain accurate tracking of restricted and unrestricted funds• Assist with budget monitoring and variance analysis; provide financial data to management• Support cash flow tracking and financial forecasting processesCompliance & Controls• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and applicable laws and regulations• Maintain financial records in accordance with internal policies and established internal controls• Assist in preparation for annual audits and serve as a point of contact for auditors as needed• Support preparation of required filings, including Form 990Grants & Fund Accounting• Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with funding requirements• Assist program staff with cost allocation and expense tracking• Prepare financial reports for funders and government agencies under supervisionCollaboration & Support• Collaborate with leadership and program teams to provide financial information and analysis• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed• Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy• Contribute to financial planning discussions and organizational initiativesQualifications Required• Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting principles• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes• Proficiency with QuickBooks and ExcelPreferred• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field• CPA or CPA candidate preferred• Experience with grant management and government fundingSkills• High level of accuracy and attention to detail• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff• Commitment to the mission and values of a nonprofit organization• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPay: $80,000.00 per yearBenefits:• 401(k) matching• Dental insurance• Employee assistance program• Health insurance• Paid sick timeWork Location: In personAccess Support Network is an equal opportunity employer to all, regardless of age (40 and over), ancestry, association with a member of a protected class, bereavement leave, cannabis use, color, disability (physical, intellectual/developmental, or mental health/psychiatric.), Family Care and Medical Leave (CFRA) related to serious health condition of employee or family member, child bonding, or military exigencies, gender identity or expression, genetic information or characteristic, marital status, medical condition (cancer or genetic characteristic), military and veteran status, national origin (includes language restrictions), participation in an EEO protected activity, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions, Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), race (includes hairstyle and hair texture), religious creed (includes dress and grooming practices), reproductive health decision making, reproductive loss leave, sex/gender, and sexual orientation
