Position Overview
DTI has an immediate need for an experienced SAP IS-U FICA Accounts Receivable Analyst to support a long-term utility transformation program in New York.
This role will support the Credit & Collections organization, with a strong focus on reporting, analytics, regulatory reporting, and business-performance measurement. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of SAP IS-U FICA, Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections processes and the ability to analyze operational and financial data to support business and regulatory requirements.
This position requires someone who can work directly with business stakeholders, understand their reporting and analytical needs, analyze FICA and collections data, and deliver accurate recurring and ad hoc reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the reporting and analytical needs of the Credit & Collections organization.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver ad hoc, daily, weekly, and monthly reporting used to measure business performance.
- Analyze SAP IS-U FICA and collections data to identify trends, exceptions, performance issues, and areas requiring business attention.
- Apply a strong understanding of FICA/Accounts Receivable and Collections processes when developing and validating reports.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements by gathering, analyzing, validating, and reconciling applicable FICA and collections information.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, KPIs, metrics, and data definitions.
- Analyze customer receivables, outstanding balances, aging, payments, collections activity, and other applicable AR performance measures.
- Validate reporting results and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support reconciliation of reporting data between SAP IS-U FICA and related systems or data sources.
- Assist with root-cause analysis when reporting identifies unexpected trends, data inconsistencies, or process issues.
- Work closely with Credit & Collections, Finance, Customer Service, functional, technical, and reporting teams.
- Document reporting requirements, business rules, data definitions, calculations, and processes.
- Support testing and validation of reports and FICA/collections functionality during system changes and project releases.
- Communicate findings and reporting results clearly to business and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP IS-U FICA / Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable.
- Experience supporting Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections processes within SAP IS-U.
- Understanding of utility collections processes and the underlying FICA transactions and data.
- Experience developing, analyzing, or supporting operational and management reporting.
- Ability to support daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Experience analyzing business performance metrics, trends, exceptions, and data discrepancies.
- Ability to support regulatory reporting and associated data-validation requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of transactional and financial information.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements.
- Experience working within an electric, gas, or other regulated utility environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel at least 25%, with flexibility for additional travel based on project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a major SAP IS-U CIS implementation or utility transformation program.
- Knowledge of related SAP IS-U processes, including Billing, Invoicing, Payments, Dunning, Collections, Returns, Write-Offs, Installment Plans, and Security Deposits.
- Experience with utility Credit & Collections KPIs and regulatory reporting.
- Experience with reporting, dashboards, data extracts, or analytical tools used with SAP data.
- Experience with data reconciliation and validation across SAP IS-U/FICA and downstream reporting environments.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, or post-go-live stabilization.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will bring a combination of SAP IS-U FICA expertise + Accounts Receivable/Credit & Collections knowledge + strong reporting and analytical capabilities + direct regulated utility experience.
This is not simply a general SAP FICA functional role. The consultant needs to understand the business and data behind Credit & Collections and be able to use that knowledge to support regulatory reporting, recurring operational reports, performance measurement, and ad hoc analysis.
