Procurement Specialist

The Role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for the department, including purchase requisition processing, Purchase Order (PO) creation, vendor coordination, spare parts procurement, and procurement request tracking through Jira.

What You’ll Do

· Procurement & Purchase Order Management

· Create, submit, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for departmental requirements.

· Process purchase requisitions and ensure all required approvals are obtained.

· Track procurement requests from initiation through delivery and invoice reconciliation.

· Monitor open POs and proactively resolve delays or issues affecting procurement timelines.

· Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

· Vendor Management & Coordination

· Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external vendors.

· Obtain quotations, compare pricing, and coordinate vendor selection processes.

· Follow up with suppliers on order status, lead times, deliveries, and invoicing.

· Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and service providers.

· Coordinate with sourcing and procurement teams to ensure contract and purchasing compliance.

· Jira Ticket Management

· Manage procurement requests using Jira or similar ticketing systems.

· Create, update, prioritize, and close procurement-related tickets.

· Track procurement requests against agreed service levels and timelines.

· Maintain visibility into request status and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

· Generate reports and dashboards to track procurement performance and workload.

What You Need

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

· Experience:

· 6 to 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or vendor management.

· Experience creating and managing Purchase Orders (POs).

· Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and internal stakeholders.

· Experience supporting spare parts, inventory, or operational procurement activities.

Location & Compensation

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote – US

Compensation Range: $57,000-$88,000
