Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist within our Supply Chain function. The following are the primary responsibilities of the role:

Acts as agent of the company in the purchase of raw material and related services. This activity must be conducted within Procurement and Company policies and procedures to meet or exceed plant quality production goals in a timely manner, at the least overall use cost.


• Comply with and support PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and Company policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State and Local regulations.
• Comply with and support AS9100, SOX requirements and all PCC Cardinal Rules, including EHS and Quality. • Initiates and coordinates purchase contract negotiations with officers and representatives of supplier and company end users.
• Develops and implements strategies to optimize supply chain performance, recognizing total cost implications. • Compiles and analyzes statistical data to evaluate price/cost conditions. Partners with end user to determine recommendations and negotiates for cost improvements.
• Engages end users in complex negotiations.
• Occasionally performs analysis of supplier operations to determine capability to meet plant objectives.
• Works to optimize supply base size. • Initiates request for quotations; recommends and takes appropriate action.
• Maintains records and documentation to assure compliance with corporate policy and procedure.
• Completes special projects as assigned.
• Resolves discrepancies that arise such as discrepant pricing, warranty claims, failure to comply with specifications, over shipments, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to lift 35Lbs. • Ability to work in a shop environment. • Weekend availability. • Forklift certified, or willing to learn
• Experience with reading/interpreting aerospace specifications (AMS, ASTM, and other OEM specs).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and attention to detail skills • Ability to make decisions • Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and practices.
• Willingness to work toward professional development as need arises.
• Ability to maintain composure in high stress situations with suppliers, peers, and customers.
• Ability to work extended hours as need arises.
• Intermediate working knowledge of MRP; MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook (Advanced Excel skills preferred)
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
