Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Colorado Springs, CO 80903
Duration: 6 months (Contract to Hire)
Note: We would like to find someone who may be interested in a permanent position after their assignment.
Qualifications:
- Prior payroll experience
- In-house payroll experience
- Experience with Lawson Software preferred
- In-office required - Downtown location
- FLSA knowledge
- Candidates must have previous payroll experience (not necessarily ADP)- 5 years is preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge and experience of payroll processes, laws, and taxes.
Responsibilities:
- Processes payroll: summarizes, examines, posts, verifies, and reconciles payroll data.
- Maintains annual and quarterly payroll reports, including a complete record of payroll transactions.
- Coordinates calculate, and posts adjusting entries to appropriate subaccounts as approved by supervisor.
- Reconciles reports including, but not limited to, taxes, retirement, and vendor accounts.
- Recommends, prepares, and documents changes in payroll processing procedures
