Your Role
As the Payroll Administrator, you will manage the timely and accurate processing of employee payroll and timekeeping information. You will also maintain payroll records, support employees and supervisors, implement payroll system updates, and prepare required payroll reports and regulatory filings.
Responsibilities
- Processing biweekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
- Reviewing employee time and attendance records for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate compensation.
- Working with supervisors to resolve missing punches, timecard discrepancies, and other payroll-related issues.
- Transferring approved timekeeping data into Paycor for payroll processing.
- Calculating and entering payroll deductions, including child support orders, wage garnishments, and miscellaneous deductions.
- Maintaining employee direct-deposit information and coordinating transmission to Paycor.
- Maintaining payroll cost-center allocations and processing changes related to restructuring, employee transfers, leaves, vacations, and temporary coverage.
- Training and supporting employees and supervisors on the proper use of the timekeeping system.
- Preparing biweekly actual-to-budget reports of employee hours by cost center and distributing reports to supervisors.
- Maintaining organized and accurate payroll registers, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports and tax filings, including Forms 941-X when required.
- Submitting payroll information and required documentation to regulatory agencies.
- Completing employment and wage-verification requests accurately and promptly.
- Processing wage assignments and garnishments, including payment requests and required follow-up.
- Assisting with payroll system maintenance, testing, process improvements, and system changes.
- Responding to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially.
- Maintaining the confidentiality and security of payroll and employee information.
- Performing additional payroll and accounting duties as assigned.
- A High School diploma is required, with a minimum of two years of direct payroll processing experience.
- General knowledge of basic accounting, including journal entries.
- Prior experience with payroll, time and attendance, and accounting systems software is required.
- Excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of computers, software applications, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
