Lead IT Procurement OfficerLocation: Onsite, State of MS Duration: 3 years Shift: 8:30 AM to 3:00 PMAbout the Role Join the State of Mississippi as a Lead IT Procurement Officer and drive mission-critical IT acquisitions that power statewide technology initiatives. Step into a stable environment where your expertise in procurement and project management will be valued and your contributions will influence the future of IT in state government.Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all contract management activities for IT procurement, ensuring compliance with state laws and ITS guidelines- Provide project management and oversight across multiple concurrent procurement projects- Research, evaluate, and recommend IT products and services aligned with agency needs- Develop, issue, and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other solicitation documents- Review, score, and analyze proposals, bids, and quotes to determine optimal solutions- Collaborate with the Information Technology Services (ITS) team for leadership and governance on procurement projects- Maintain open communication with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure clarity and transparency throughout the procurement processRequired Skills and Experience- 10+ years’ experience gathering, documenting, and communicating business requirements or user stories- Extensive background in defining/documenting requirements, processes, and workflows- Proven track record as a business analyst or project manager in IT procurement- Demonstrated experience organizing project teams and managing work plans for multiple simultaneous projects- Deep understanding of state government operations and procurement procedures- Strong expertise in creating solicitations for IT software and servicesPreferred Skills- Certified Mississippi Purchasing Agent (CMPA) certificationBenefits- Stable, long-term (3-year) onsite engagement with daytime hours (8:30 AM–3:00 PM)- Opportunity to work on high-visibility IT projects that impact statewide operations- Collaborative environment with direct interaction with agency leadership and vendor partners- Professional growth through engagement with cutting-edge technology procurementHow to Apply Qualified candidates passionate about leading IT procurement in a dynamic government setting are invited to submit their updated resume and a brief cover letter outlining relevant experience.
