Indirect Tax Manager  

London (Battersea Power Station) or Leeds / Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office  

About the role 

This role places you at the centre of one of SharkNinja's fastest-growing regions, owning indirect tax across a multi-country EMEA footprint whilst directly supporting new market entries and commercial initiatives. As a key member of the EMEA tax team you will be the regional specialist for VAT and other indirect taxes. Reporting to the Head of EMEA Tax, you will run the compliance and control environment, partner with commercial, supply chain and finance teams on new operations, lead our engagement with tax authorities, and drive the technology and data agenda that lets the function scale. You will work closely with the wider EMEA finance function and with our US tax team to support a seamless global tax operation. 

Compliance and controls 

• Own timely and accurate indirect tax compliance across the EMEA entity structure, including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales Listings, OSS and other periodic filings across multiple jurisdictions. 

• Manage the relationship with external compliance providers, set service standards, review outputs before submission and challenge where required. 

• Manage indirect tax registrations across EMEA, including new registrations, fiscal representative arrangements for non-EU established entities and deregistrations. 

• Build and maintain the control environment over indirect tax reporting, including reconciliation of VAT returns to the general ledger, review of tax code application and root cause analysis of errors. 

• Lead the preparation of responses to tax authority audits, enquiries and information requests across EMEA, coordinating input from finance, logistics and external advisers. 

Advisory and business partnering 

• Review new and existing operations from an indirect tax perspective, including supply chain design, contracting entity, Incoterms, importer of record and place of supply analysis for cross-border and chain transactions. 

• Provide indirect tax input to market entry projects, marketplace and D2C channel expansion, warranty and returns processes, promotional activity and other commercial initiatives. 

• Monitor legislative developments across EMEA, including e-invoicing and digital reporting mandates, EU customs reform and rate changes, assess the impact on the business and drive implementation. 

Governance and strategy 

• Contribute to the design and execution of indirect tax controls and processes in support of the group's global tax strategy and SOX control environment. 

• Develop and implement written indirect tax guidance across recurring business activities to support informed decision-making by the business. 

• Manage indirect tax adviser budgets and scope for the region. 

Systems, data and technology 

• Define indirect tax requirements for ERP configuration, tax determination logic and reporting, and act as the tax lead on system and finance transformation projects. 

• Work with IT and data teams to improve the quality, completeness and accessibility of transaction data used for indirect tax reporting. 

• Identify and deliver automation opportunities across the compliance cycle, including exception reporting, invoice review and return preparation. 

Some of the skills and experience we’re looking for  

• Qualified tax or accounting professional (CTA, ACA, ACCA) with an indirect tax specialism. 

• Demonstrable UK and EU indirect tax experience gained with a professional services firm, a multinational business or a combination of both. 

• Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU VAT principles. 

• Experience managing external advisers and compliance providers across multiple jurisdictions. 

• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to run several workstreams concurrently in a fast-paced environment. 

• Comfortable partnering with commercial, supply chain and finance stakeholders across multiple time zones. 

• Working knowledge of ERP tax configuration and data analysis tools (desirable).
