POSITION SUMMARY
The GL Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial records for the India Pumps business. The role supports manufacturing accounting, group reporting (BPC/consolidation), SOX compliance, and ERP-driven processes, while ensuring adherence to internal controls and corporate accounting standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger Management
Maintain and manage General Ledger and Chart of Accounts in alignment with group guidelines
Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and intercompany transactions
Accounting Reconciliations & Internal Controls
Ensure proper accounting of AP transactions and matching of invoices
Vendor GL Review & Reconciliation at regular intervals
Ensure consistency and correctness of accounting treatments across India entities
Ensure compliance with SOX/internal control framework across India operations
Audit & Compliance
Coordination for statutory audit, internal audit, and group audit
Prepare & / or Review and provide audit schedules and documentation centrally to Statutory Auditor and Internal Controls Team
Assist with other compliance related documentation (Income Tax, Secretarial, Companies Act etc.)
Intercompany Co-ordination
Record incoming intercompany invoices, ensure proper accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations of I/C AR & AP
Resolve cross-entity differences and ensure timely closure
Act as central point for coordination between India business and I/C partners


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, taxation laws, and statutory audit processes
Proficiency in SAP (FI+CO at the minimum) and MS Office Tools
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead cross-functional collaboration.
High attention to details and accuracy
Bias toward process improvement
Self-organized, persistent, reliable and self-motivated individual
Education & Experience
Accounting Graduate / Equivalent Professional Qualification
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in GL Accounting roles, preferably in manufacturing or related industries
