We are adding to the team and seeking an exceptional team member to serve as our General Ledger Accountant III. About the Role
The primary responsibility of General Ledger Accountant III is to assist the Director of Finance/Controller with General
Ledger functions to ensure accurate accounting records, to create monthly financial reports and to provide support to other
accounting staff needing information or assistance. What You'll Do
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring on-time completion in accordance with established timelines
- Review and approve accounts payable invoices in the final review stage
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly for multiple entities
- Record accruals and prepaids as needed
- Prepare bank deposits
- Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly and monthly basis (eventually all bank reconciliations and review others)
- Create and book investment entries monthly
- Provide backup assistance to GL II and GL I staff as needed
- Analyze expense accounts as needed
- Assist with financial statement report writing and ad hoc reporting
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Maintain chart of accounts and assist with loading and maintaining budget line items in the GL
- Provide backup for reconciling monthly intercompany accounts
- Assist with year-end audit requests
- Monthly and yearly community benefit and charity care reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Finance, Controller, or CFO.
- Accounting degree, Bachelors degree preferred
- CPA preferred
- Organization skills with attention to detail
- Research and analytical skills
- Proficient with excel
- Patient, courteous and able to work well with others
- Minimum five years of accounting experience
- Computer operations
- Understanding of systems and ability to access and manipulate reports
