Full Charge Bookkeeper / HR Generalist

Cable’s Roofing is always interested in connecting with talented professionals who may be a great fit for our team. While we are not actively filling this position at this time, we are keeping our options open for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper / HR Generalist for our Tyler, Texas office.

The right person would have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, along with experience handling general HR responsibilities in a small-business environment. Extensive experience with QuickBooks Desktop is important, as well as strong attention to detail and a working knowledge of accounting, payroll, job costing and tax-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Provide full-charge bookkeeping
• Maintain financial records, reports, and general ledgers
• Assist with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Help maintain accurate and organized accounting processes
• Provide financial information and support to company leadership
• Work closely with and under the direction of the company’s CPA
• Serve as an HR Generalist, including:
  • Submitting weekly payroll through our PEO
  • Assisting with recruiting and hiring
  • Coordinating onboarding and employee documentation
  • Assisting with disciplinary documentation and employee separations
  • Supporting general HR administration
  • Using JazzHR for recruiting and applicant management
• Assist with collections and other accounting-related responsibilities as needed

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience
• Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Desktop
• Strong math and reconciliation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and collections
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with construction accounting, CRM software, or QuickBooks integrations is a major plus
• Small-business HR experience is preferred

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
