Liberty Dental Plan is seeking an experienced and collaborative Manager, Accounting to help lead our accounting operations and support the financial integrity of our growing organization. In this highly visible leadership role, you will partner closely with the Controller, oversee critical accounting functions, guide a talented team, and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, treasury management, and continuous process improvement.

About the Role

As the Manager, Accounting, you will oversee key accounting activities including month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, audits, treasury operations, and internal controls. You will serve as an important business partner across the organization, working closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, external auditors, banking partners, and leadership teams to maintain the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.

This is a hybrid position and includes leadership responsibility for a small accounting team.

What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, supporting schedules, footnotes, and disclosures.
• Review financial information for compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Maintain detailed account reconciliations and ensure appropriate supporting documentation.
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and variance explanations for leadership review.
• Oversee treasury activities including cash management, liquidity monitoring, banking relationships, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts and reporting.
• Support annual financial statement audits, statutory audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities to ensure accurate transaction processing.
• Partner with external auditors, consultants, banking partners, and system vendors.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Participate in strategic initiatives, special projects, and system implementations.
• Foster collaboration across departments to support business objectives and organizational success.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a private industry environment.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting leadership or people management experience.
• Strong experience with:
  • Month-end and year-end close processes
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Account reconciliations
  • Audit coordination and support
  • Treasury and cash management activities
  • Internal controls and compliance
• Experience working with ERP accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred.
• Healthcare, insurance, or managed care industry experience.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience supporting accounting system implementations or major process improvements.
• Experience reviewing and implementing new accounting pronouncements and guidance.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $116,000-$132,000 a year, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
