SUMMARY:

This is a hybrid position requiring a portion of each week to work in the office in North Kansas City, Missouri.  Applicants must reside in MO/KS.

The role of the Business Intelligence Analyst is to provide key analytical support to operational leaders to ensure attainment of hospital goals and objectives and to foster an environment of financial accountability.This role has a Cost Accounting focus where they will analyze clinical data and operational expenses to calculate the cost of delivering medical services and patient care via various allocation methodologies including but not limited to: step-down, reclasses, RVU-based, RCC, and direct-to-encounter.They are required to process vast amounts of information related to the needs of the hospital. They must quickly understand the data challenges of the hospital as a crucial part of meeting hospital goals. The incumbent also shares responsibility for maintaining the decision support system and using its capabilities to deliver actionable information to operational leaders.This position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence.EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in an analytical role. Demonstrated experience in problem solving and project management. Experience in data collection, data analysis and project management using computer software required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills. Ability to build strong relationships across multiple functional groups is crucial for success.SPECIAL SKILLS: Advanced skills in Excel spreadsheet software required. Experience with financial modeling or cost accounting software and relational databases preferred. Medical terminology, medical coding, or other knowledge/training in healthcare industry preferred.OTHER: A key component of the position includes building the necessary relationships with operational leaders to gain an understanding of the business and data challenges faced by the operational leaders and suggesting areas to improve. Furthermore, they must review business processes to make recommendations and implement the solutions.LICENSE/CERT: Preferred (not required): HFMA CHFP/CSAF/CHCRS

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Accounting, Bachelors - Marketing or Business related bachelors degrees.
