The Opportunity
As a Financial Analyst Lead, you will oversee key financial processes and expense categories, leveraging advanced financial analysis to solve complex business challenges. This role is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and modeling related to revenue, profitability, liquidity, capital structure, leverage, asset and liability management, and operating expenses.
The Financial Analyst Lead serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship on complex financial processes while driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will motivate and develop team members, ensuring the delivery of meaningful analytics and actionable insights into critical business drivers. Additionally, you will support management by coordinating team priorities, assigning tasks, and managing workflow to ensure efficient execution of financial objectives.
This role also ensures that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and compliance standards.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Leads, develops, and motivates the team to provide advanced analytics and insights around key business drivers.
Anticipates opportunities to tackle the most complex and / or unique business problems, providing proactive financial solutions with holistic and forward-looking perspectives to enable better decision making by senior management.
Consistently interacts with senior management becoming their trusted advisor on all financial issues.
Makes recommendations to solve short-term, as well as strategic financial business problems.
Teaches and mentors others about complex financial processes, business drivers and systems ensuring information sharing and knowledge transfer.
Reviews analysts work and assists management in assigning tasks and managing workflow.
Leads initiatives to develop an integrated enterprise planning process from multiple companies and/or staff agency processes and technologies.
Directs analyses and guides the development, enhancement, and implementation of critical processes, programs, and technologies.
Anticipates opportunities and potential solutions, leads cross-functional teams through the problem resolution process, and advises senior management on issues.
Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business, its products and processes.
Performs complex and often unique work assignments and problem resolution across multiple systems, functions, or processes.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
8 years of financial/accounting analysis experience to include 2 years leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities. OR Advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, progress towards a CPA or CFA designation, and 6 years of financial / accounting analysis experience to include 1 year leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities.
Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis and relevant technical accounting/finance acumen required.
Subject-matter-expert level of business acumen in the areas of the financial services operations, finance/accounting industry practices and emerging trends required.
Experience communicating complex financial/accounting topics to a variety of audiences.
Experience using financial/accounting technologies and proposing recommendations for improvements.
Experience using Microsoft Office Excel for significant financial data analysis and reporting.
Experience in the application and adherence to financial regulations and compliance.
Experience producing financial reports and providing recommendations based on data.
Working knowledge of GAAP.

US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.
Working knowledge of Statutory financials.
Experience working in the Life Insurance industry or Investment Industry.
Experience using the latest AI Tools.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
