Finance Lead, Netherlands

ICAT Logistics | Schiphol / Amsterdam

Build. Integrate. Improve. Make an impact.

ICAT Logistics is growing — and we’re looking for an accomplished, hands-on Finance Lead to help shape the next stage of our development in the Netherlands.

As part of a rapidly expanding, private equity-backed specialist transportation and logistics group headquartered in the United States, we are building an increasingly integrated international finance department. This is an opportunity to join at an exciting point in that journey and play a highly visible role in strengthening our Netherlands finance operation.

Reporting directly to the CFO International and working closely with ICAT’s central finance team and Netherlands leadership, you’ll take ownership of the accounting and finance function for our Dutch entities — including the integration of newly acquired businesses.

This is much more than a reporting role. We’re looking for someone who can lead the function while staying close to the detail: improving processes, solving problems, developing the team and providing the financial insight that helps the business make better decisions.

If you enjoy building rather than simply maintaining, this could be a particularly exciting next move.

Who are ICAT Logistics?

At ICAT Logistics, we specialise in the logistics challenges that don’t come with a standard solution.

We are a global specialised logistics business, designing and delivering highly customised solutions for complex, time-critical and high-value operations. With a worldwide network spanning 190 countries, our teams combine local expertise, specialist knowledge and technology to keep some of the world’s most demanding operations moving.

And “logistics” at ICAT can mean something very different from one day to the next.

Our specialist teams work across Live Events, Luxury, Technology, Defense & Aerospace and Financial Institutions — moving everything from mission-critical technology and high-value assets to the equipment behind major international sporting events, music tours and live productions.

We’ve supported extraordinary projects around the world, from moving the James Webb Space Telescope to providing logistics behind global tours, major sporting events and complex defence and aerospace operations.

What connects them all is the same challenge: when the shipment matters, getting it right matters.

ICAT combines the reach and capabilities of an international organisation with an entrepreneurial, solutions-focused culture. We’re growing, investing in our technology and infrastructure, and bringing our international operations closer together as we build the next generation of the business.

For our people, that creates something equally exciting: the opportunity to join a business with genuine global scale while still having the scope to make an impact, improve how things are done and help shape what comes next.

Your Move is our mission.

The opportunity

You’ll have broad ownership across accounting, reporting, cash management, forecasting, budgeting, payroll, tax coordination and internal controls.

Just as importantly, you’ll help create the finance infrastructure needed to support a growing international business.

Accounting & Reporting

You will lead the day-to-day accounting operation across the Netherlands, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with local accounting requirements and accurate consolidated reporting under US GAAP.

You’ll own the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow reporting and variance analysis, while working closely with subsidiary and central teams to deliver timely, consistent financial information.

You’ll also oversee monthly Netherlands payroll and associated reporting.

Cash Flow & Forecasting

You’ll maintain a clear view of cash and liquidity across the Netherlands operation, monitoring balances and working closely with Treasury on short- and long-term cash flow forecasting.

Your analysis will give senior leadership the visibility they need to make confident operational and investment decisions.

Budgeting & Business Partnership

Working alongside the CFO and Netherlands leadership team, you’ll provide the financial input behind business planning, annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

You’ll be expected to go beyond reporting the numbers — translating them into commercially relevant insight and becoming a trusted finance partner to the business.

Building Better Finance Processes

Growth brings change, and this role will be central to making that change successful.

You’ll lead the development and implementation of accounting policies, controls and standard operating procedures that make finance more efficient, scalable and consistent.

You’ll also play a key role in the integration of acquired businesses and the development of a centralized shared-service model for finance.

Tax, Audit & Compliance

You’ll coordinate and support corporate tax and statutory compliance requirements in the Netherlands, including local reporting, transfer pricing and international tax requirements, while working effectively with external auditors, tax advisers and relevant authorities.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced finance professional who combines technical credibility with energy, pragmatism and a willingness to get things done.

You’ll ideally bring:

Experience within a private equity-backed, acquisitive or rapidly changing organisation would be helpful, but it isn’t essential. Similarly, experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding or another operationally complex industry is an advantage rather than a requirement.

The person who will thrive here

You’re a player-coach.

You can set direction, develop a team and engage confidently with senior stakeholders — but you’re equally comfortable opening the spreadsheet, investigating an issue, completing the analysis and getting the job finished yourself.

You build credibility quickly and can bring together people from different teams, locations and perspectives around a common goal.

You’re pragmatic, entrepreneurial and solutions-focused. When something isn’t working, your instinct is to understand it, improve it and drive the solution through to completion.

And you’re comfortable with change. ICAT is growing through acquisition and integration, so processes and priorities will evolve. For the right person, that’s part of what makes the opportunity exciting.

Why join ICAT Logistics?

This is an opportunity to have real influence in a growing international organisation.

You’ll work directly with senior finance leadership, gain exposure across international operations and acquisitions, and have the scope to shape how finance operates in the Netherlands rather than simply inheriting a finished model.

For someone who enjoys combining technical finance, business partnership, transformation and hands-on leadership, the role offers considerable breadth and visibility.

Location & working pattern

The role is based in the Schiphol area of Amsterdam and requires you to be in the office for at least four days of the five-day working week.

Ready to help build what comes next?

If you’re an experienced finance leader who enjoys taking ownership, improving how things work and being close to the commercial heart of a growing business, we’d love to hear from you.

Join ICAT Logistics and help build a finance function ready for the next stage of international growth.
