Country Finance Manager

About the Role The Country Finance Manager is the single point of contact in finance for the country, accountable for the five pillars of financial controlling at the location: Financial Accounting & Reporting, Financial Risk Management & Control, Financial Compliance & Corporate Governance, Working Capital Management, and Finance Transformation projects. Acting as head of finance for the country, this person will be a key partner to the Country Managing Director, supporting business performance analysis and the country's upcoming business performance project. Key Responsibilities Own the country's P&L analysis, balance sheet review, and reconciliations, working closely with the Global Service Centre (GSC) team based in India Serve as the primary finance point of contact with external stakeholders — government authorities, tax controllers, external vendors, and customers, including receivables support Oversee local tax compliance, support frontline tax assessments, and manage tax filings Review financial statements to ensure integrity of one-off transactions, provisions, and periodic movements of key balances Manage petty cash disbursement, corporate card administration, and travel & expense management (TEM) Drive end-to-end SG&A cost reporting and control for FTE and non-FTE costs Supervise audit processes, ensure timely closure, and act as anchor point for RICC (risk and internal control) effectiveness in the country Support Area Financial Compliance, Cash Flow Control, and Finance Transformation initiatives at the local level Act as a trusted advisor to business functions on financial procedures, investment proposals, and APMM GAAP matters Partner with the Country Managing Director as key second-in-command on business insight and performance piloting We Are Looking For A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience Experience in the shipping/logistics industry preferred; candidates from FMCG or commodity trading backgrounds are also welcome Good working knowledge of IFRS Fluent in written and spoken English Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of business context and impact Excellent communication skills — able to condense complex data into clear, decision-ready formats A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and high integrity #RPO Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
