Reporting to the Executive Director, Finance Strategy, the Finance Manager, Strategy serves as a key individual contributor responsible for advanced financial modeling and business case development. This role partners across the Presbyterian Healthcare Services enterprise to evaluate strategic opportunities, solve complex financial challenges, and support data-driven decision-making in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The Finance Manager acts as a strategic finance consultant to operational and executive leaders, leveraging healthcare data (with a strong emphasis on Epic and enterprise data systems) to build robust pro formas, assess ROI, and evaluate growth, investment, and operational initiatives across hospitals, clinics, and managed care environments. Type of Opportunity: Full time Job Exempt: Yes Job is based: Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Responsibilities: Financial Modeling & Business Case Development Develop and maintain complex, Excel-based financial models to evaluate new programs, service line expansions, capital investments, and strategic initiatives. Build comprehensive pro formas, including NPV, IRR, and ROI analyses, incorporating key drivers such as volume, payer mix, reimbursement, and cost structure. Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to quantify risk and inform decision-making. Serve as a financial subject matter expert in evaluating the feasibility and financial viability of new and expanded business opportunities. Healthcare Data Integration & Analytics (Epic-Centric) Identify, source, and integrate data from Epic (professional billing, hospital billing, utilization, and clinical activity) and other enterprise systems to support financial analyses. Partner with Data & Analytics and IT teams to define data requirements, develop queries, and combine datasets across multiple sources. Ensure data integrity and consistency across analyses, including alignment with cost accounting and decision support systems. Translate complex datasets into actionable financial insights and executive-ready deliverables. Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement Apply a continuous improvement mindset to streamline financial workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance reporting efficiency. Develop and formalize processes, tools, and best practices for financial modeling and analytics. Decision Support Systems & Tools Participate in the implementation and optimization of decision support tools (e.g., Strata / EPSi), reporting frameworks, and data governance processes. Develop reports and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to support enterprise visibility into performance. Train and advise finance peers and business partners on analytical tools and financial modeling techniques. Data & Analytics Experience working with healthcare data, including Epic (Revenue Cycle, Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Clarity/Caboodle or similar) Ability to compile, integrate, and analyze large datasets from multiple systems Strong understanding of relationships between volume, reimbursement, cost, and margin Qualifications: Bachelors degree in healthcare, accounting, finance or other quantitative/related field. Masters degree preferred. 5-10 years healthcare industry experience specifically healthcare delivery finance, cost accounting or medical economics. Must have EXPERT knowledge of healthcare delivery operations and direct analytics experience, including but not limited to: make vs buy analysis, cost to deliver care, population health programs, reimbursement methodologies, payor contracting including incentive strategies and value-based reimbursement. In addition, experience working within an integrated healthcare system is preferred. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills/capabilities and communication skills (verbal and written). EXPERT knowledge of healthcare industry and healthcare information standards such as ICD9/10, CPT codes, HCPCS codes, MS-DRG, ETGs, RBRVS, and, cost accounting methodologies. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Office products and other analytical tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, Strata, etc. Prior Business Objects, and relational databases. Experience preparing Power Point presentations/ visualization of complex information in a simplified yet powerful manner.
