JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Patrick’s Elementary School Vancouver is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our school team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the school. The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, professional, and able to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities-Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the school-Process accounts payable and accounts receivable-Prepare and issue invoices and receipts-Record and reconcile financial transactions-Reconcile bank and credit card statements-Process deposits and payments-Maintain accurate records of tuition, fees, and other school-related accounts-Prepare payroll information and assist with payroll processing-Track school expenses and assist with budget monitoring-Prepare financial reports and summaries as required-Maintain organized financial files and documentation-Assist with year-end financial procedures and preparation of information for the school’s accountant-Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with school procedures and applicable requirements-Communicate professionally with staff, parents, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters-Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all financial and personal information-Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Skills-Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a school or similar organization-Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and procedures-Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel-Excellent organizational and time-management skills-Strong attention to detail and accuracy-Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-Ability to work independently and as part of a team-High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality-Experience with payroll and/or school accounting systems would be an asset-Knowledge of the Catholic school environment is an asset
