About the job!
This is a high-impact, critical role within the finance architecture at S&W Foods. You are the primary engine behind our daily cash reconciliation lifecycle, owning how customer payments and transaction records transform into an accurate, real-time ledger. This is a deeply operational position requiring sharp problem-solving capabilities. You will manage daily liquidity flows—from check processing to risk-mitigating credit holds—while collaborating across teams to resolve discrepancies and secure our revenue runway. You will operate at high velocity, keeping our accounts receivable engine running flawlessly while training to serve as a strategic backup for the Credit Manager.
What you'll own as an AR Collections Specialist for S&W Foods
- Payment Architecture & Reconciliation: Daily prepare, verify, post, and record complex customer payments and cash receipts. You will keep the accounts receivable substrate meticulously updated every single day.
- Cash Management & Deposits: Own the daily cash box and execute precise check and cash bank deposits, ensuring physical currency and digital balances align perfectly.
- Delinquency Resolution & Collections: Proactively monitor the aging ledger, make targeted collection calls, and pursue outstanding payments from delinquent account holders to minimize revenue leakage.
- Credit Risk & Guardrails: Analyze and rule on credit hold accounts daily ahead of strict cutoff times, collaborating dynamically with the Credit Manager to safeguard company cash flow.
- Discrepancy Auditing & Research: Deeply investigate customer account variances and past-due amounts, driving cross-functional resolution alongside internal stakeholders.
- Billing Optimization & Reporting: Create, audit, and submit invoices to customers following strict internal compliance. Generate high-fidelity accounts receivable health and status reports upon leadership request.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a core member of our high-performance team architecture, ensuring critical ledger and customer changes are seamlessly communicated to relevant operations staff.
What Success Looks Like!
- High-Velocity Operational Mindset: A strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works independently, and proactively anticipates shifting business needs.
- Analytical Precision: Elite organizational skills and an attention to data integrity. You enjoy untangling complex financial discrepancies and getting it right the first time.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the professional diplomacy needed to manage sensitive collections and credit discussions.
- Technical Stack Fluency: High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), dedicated accounting/ERP software ecosystems, and standard data entry tools (including 10-key calculators).
- Foundational Experience & Growth Potential: A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least two years of direct experience in transactional accounting or accounts receivable. A desire to upskill and train as a strategic backup for credit leadership.
