Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club is seeking a full-time, year-round Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance and Accounting Department.

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time.  The role supports the organization’s accounting operations, requires strict adherence to company policies, and involves handling confidential financial information. 

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can manage financial transactions accurately, maintain compliance and assist the finance team in meeting the organization’s financial goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices for payment.
• Prepare payments – checks and electronic transfers and record accurately in the accounting software.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and support files.
• Onboard vendors in accordance with company policies, requirements, and established procedures.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account reconciliation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare reports related to accounts payable as requested by manager.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education – Associate degree, diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
• Experience – Minimum one year in accounts payable, bookkeeping or general accounting.
• Technical Skills – Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, with strong Excel skills preferred.
• Knowledge – Working knowledge of accounting principles, accounts payable processes, and financial recordkeeping practices.
• Core Competencies – Strong numerical and analytical abilities, attention to detail, effective organizational and time management skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a high-volume accounts payable environment preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems, including Sage, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Knowledge of Bahamian accounting practices, business operations, and regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience working in the hospitality or private club industries preferred.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
