SUMMARY

The Accounting Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Partner with plant operations and accounting teams to develop systems, processes, and reporting to help drive continuous improvement in all areas of the facility.   
• Provide ad-hoc review and analysis of revenue and expenses ensuring compliance and accuracy of our AR & AP systems.   

• Maintain integrity of plant general ledger in regard to GAAP, including capitalization of fixed assets.   

• Responsible for the monthly financial close and reporting cycle, including variance analysis.   

• Responsible for invoicing processes and completing the monthly Market Administrator (MA) report for the plant.  

• Serve as a “hands on” leader, gaining a detailed understanding of the operation to best provide support to the facility through impactful and relevant reporting and forecasts.   

• Develop and mentor staff with a focus on growth and process engagement.   

• Assist with the development and maintenance of performance metrics, forecasts, and costing systems.   

• Desire and ability to learn the operational process; going beyond the strictly financial functions to understand from an operations perspective the root cause.     

• Work closely with the accounting team on development and standardization of processes and procedures.  

• Other duties as assigned.  

BASIC REQUIREMENTS 

• At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification preferred. MBA preferred. 
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Track record of progressive responsibility and leadership preferred. Experience in a manufacturing accounting setting preferred. 

• At least 3 years of experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting processes. 

• At least 3 years of experience with accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Experience with SAP preferred.  

• At least 3 years of experience with compliance requirements. 

• At least 3 years of experience with financial analysis and budgeting. 

• At least 3 years of experience supervising a team.
