Accounting Supervisor (Payroll)

HornBill has a client in search of an Accounting Supervisor (Payroll) in Brooklyn, New York (NY). Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll with Paychex for ~450 union/non-union, fulltime and part-time multi-location employees
• Bank deposit transfers from stores to Control Account
• Update daily control Excel with Transfers
• Upload checks to for positive pay
• Run Cash flow report
• Payroll weekly reporting for budgeting
• Review, update pay rent with QuickBooks
• Assist AP with Supplier inquiries and look up if checks cleared and cut checks
• Initiate stop payment of lost checks, review check history
• Orders deposit slips and bags
• Supply stores with deposit slips, bags as needed/when required
• Handles issues with tenants, bills payments city fines, etc.

• Review bank account for fraud charges, check deposits, transfers, etc.
• Troubleshoot ad-hoc problems in Paychex/Attendance on Demand (AOD)
• Assist Manager in fix punches
• Train new managers and department managers in using Paychex system and AOD
• Act as the Liaison between the company and Paychex for problems, changes and reporting as needed

• Handle Exceptions for store locations (Time clock errors and connectivity)
• Correct punch issues, training and assist in taking calls for HR Functions when needed if HR is not available
• Review changes in employee status, update salaries, enter changes in AOD for vacation, Sick and Holidays
• Set up changes and garnishments as needed
