This individual will own the technical accounting function, spearhead audit -readiness frameworks, and design the communication rhythms necessary for a high -accountability culture. <\/div>1. Financial Close Excellence<\/b>

- Direct the complete month -end close cycle to ensure high -velocity accuracy.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Redesign workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and standardize deliverables.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Ensure all reconciliations and financial schedules meet rigorous precision standards.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>2. Proactive Audit & Compliance<\/b>
<\/div>- Transform audit preparation from a seasonal event into a year -round "ready" state.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Maintain robust internal controls compliant with GAAP and non -profit grant requirements.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, resolving potential issues before they escalate.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>3. Specialized Grant & Fund Accounting<\/b>
<\/div>- Manage complex restricted/unrestricted fund structures and program allocations.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Oversee revenue recognition and donor -specific compliance.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Provide the accurate data foundations required for budgeting and long -term forecasting.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>4. Systems Architecture<\/b>
<\/div>- Lead the implementation and optimization of accounting software and reporting tools.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Author and maintain comprehensive process documentation to ensure operational continuity.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li> - Automate manual workflows to increase departmental efficiency.<\/span><\/span>

- Education:<\/b> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred).<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>- Experience:<\/b> 5+ years of progressive experience, with a focus on non -profit or grant -heavy accounting.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>- Knowledge:<\/b> Expert -level understanding of GAAP and non -profit financial reporting.<\/span><\/span>
<\/li>- Systems:<\/b> Proven track record of improving or implementing financial software systems.<\/span><\/span>
