It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. Description of Work
Reporting to the Administrative Officer I, this position will ensure the accuracy and fiscal policy compliance with critical accounting duties. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Handling Trust Fund Accounting.
- Reviewing, interpreting, and applying current policy and procedure applicable to purchasing, accounts payable, and other accounting procedures.
- Utilizing the State E-Procurement System.
- Managing all P-Card transactions and reconciling them with the North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS).
- Analyzing data for accuracy, researching, and solving problems.
- Operating a personal computer, calculator, copy machine, facsimile machine and other communication equipment in an accurate manner.
- Maintaining spreadsheets and logs of various documents and forms.

Salary Range: $31,200 - $51,249

- Experience in accounts payable or receivable.

About the Division of Institutions :
The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

Sampson Correctional Institution is located in Clinton, North Carolina and houses up to 462 male offenders in a medium and minimum custody facility.
