Job Description & Summary

Why Join PwC Ireland?
At PwC Ireland, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to building trust in society and solving our clients’ most complex challenges. Here, diverse teams collaborate across sectors and geographies to deliver innovative solutions that make a real difference.
We invest in your growth through continuous learning, leadership development, and access to cutting-edge technology, empowering you to shape your career and impact the future of business and society

About the role:

Our experienced Financial Services Tax team of 170 professionals, led by our 11 Partners, are experts in their respective fields, specialising in the dynamic and diverse world of Financial Services. The group works across the core areas of Asset & Wealth Management, Aviation Finance and the Core Corporate Group (servicing large Banking and Insurance clients) and provides tax compliance and advisory services to clients in areas such as investment fund strategies, aviation finance, treasury operations, insurance and real estate. We also have a dedicated team working on the opportunities in the Fintech sector, where there has been significant growth in recent years. We are a team that embraces change and are focused on using technology-based solutions to deliver an excellent client service.

Our role is to bring tax solutions for our clients both locally and internationally, to fit with their commercial aims. Our clients include many of the leading domestic and multinational financial institutions. Our regular interactions with both Irish Revenue and the Department of Finance, as well as our connections with various industry bodies and the OECD working groups, enable us to be at the forefront of an ever changing and dynamic tax environment.

Within each of the specialist areas of FS we offer a wealth of experience, learning and opportunities to assist you in developing your career. This role is focused on our Aviation Finance tax practice, where you will advise aircraft lessors, airlines, investors and financiers on the tax aspects of aircraft leasing, financing and trading transactions. You will work with some of the best FS Tax professionals both in PwC Ireland but also within our global network giving you a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues around the world and work not only on Irish tax issues but also on cross-border aviation finance transactions and structuring.

Ireland is the undisputed global leader in aviation finance and aircraft leasing, with 14 of the world's top 15 lessors based here, and Irish-based firms managing approximately 60% of the global leased fleet. With more than 50 aviation finance companies operating from Ireland and total sector assets standing at EUR 268 billion , the volume and complexity of tax advisory work in this space continues to grow. Our team in Ireland has deep industry knowledge and an extensive track record in supporting complex transactions.

You will work with our clients on structuring aircraft leasing and financing transactions, providing advice on the Irish tax aspects of aircraft acquisitions, disposals and lease arrangements, advising on capital allowances, withholding tax obligations and treaty access, and identifying tax risks across domestic and cross-border transactions. You will also consider the impact of emerging trends such as sustainable aviation and fleet transition, the evolving international landscape including Pillar Two and the continued consolidation among global lessors.

What you will do:

As a Senior Manager in FS Tax, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve complex tax and broader business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
