Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
Potomac Distro is hiring a Staff Accountant to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
- Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with audit preparation, documentation, and control processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work longer hours as needed.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of QuickBooks
