Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing) Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. Support the preparation of financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records. Assist with account analyses, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance reporting. Collaborate with internal business partners across Hearst Magazines' brands to support day-to-day financial operations. Help maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and company procedures. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and required documentation. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiencies. Qualifications (What We're Looking For) 0+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, including internships, co-op experience, or equivalent experience. Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or financial systems is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute across teams. Hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, with an expectation of working in the office four days per week. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
