Staff Accountant

Sprout Social is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for the Finance team based in the Philippines

What you’ll do

• Execute core accounting processes from start to finish, including organizing data sets, Cash reconciliations, preparing and recording journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts under the guidance of senior team members. 
• Support the team in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Learn how various finance systems function and help the team ensure automated processes are operating effectively.
• Contribute to process improvements by documenting existing workflows and suggesting minor enhancements to increase efficiency.

What you’ll bring

You have past experience in Finance/Accounting within a high growth technical company. You are familiar with building out processes as a business scales. You bring a desire to continuously evaluate and strengthen internal controls by implementing process and system improvements. You are proficient in using Sprout’s accounting system (NetSuite), record journal entries, record intercompany transactions, retrieve data needed to review transactions and financial reporting

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in spreadsheet software
• Solid organizational and attention-to-detail abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A demonstrated ability to learn quickly and contribute effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

• Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting operations
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP system
• A demonstrated interest in improving processes and an understanding of enhancing internal controls
• SaaS or tech industry experience is a plus

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

• Experience Sprout’s in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders, to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers
• Make a plan with your manager to set initial priorities, align on expectations for your role, plant goalposts for your career, and learn about Sprout’s approach to scaling key business operations to support a high-growth, NASDAQ publicly traded company

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

• Be proficient in using Sprout’s accounting system (NetSuite), record journal entries, record intercompany transactions, retrieve data needed to review transactions and financial reporting
• Play a critical role in Sprout's month-end close, by maintaining our fixed asset and prepaids schedules, preparing accruals, and performing cash reconciliations
• Collaborate with members from other teams, including AP and Payroll
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

• Maintain and improve SOX compliance for accounting functions, including participating in SOX documentation and testing
• Fully own your assigned close processes for Sprout Social and our subsidiaries
• Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you’ll discuss your accomplishments in your role and work together to build goals for your professional growth

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

• Prepare client support and communicate core accounting processes to the external Big 4 audit team for quarterly and annual review
• Assist in the evaluation of internal controls by implementing process and system improvements 
• Surprise us! Use your unique ideas and abilities to change your team in beneficial ways that we haven’t even considered yet

Our salary ranges reflect the expected earning potential for this role. Individual pay is based on geographic zone, relevant experience, and skills.

Our current hiring range for this role:  ₱600,000 -  ₱630,000 annually. Offers are made within this range, with opportunities to grow within the broader band based on performance and impact.

We share both our current hiring range and our broader geographic salary bands to provide transparency into our compensation philosophy. This ensures you understand not only your starting potential but also the long-term growth opportunities available as you progress in your role.

The full base pay range for this role is  ₱600,000 -  ₱900,000

These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
