Sr. Accountant

Job Description

The client, a rapidly growing non-profit that supports the efficacy and expansion of charter school, is a seeking a Sr. Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This newly created position will report directly into the CFO, lead all accounting for the organization, and coincide with massive room for growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle AP and AR including vendor payments, collections, organized documentation, and the preparation and timely issuance of accurate monthly service invoices.
• Maintain the general ledger and own the end-to-end month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and the generation of timely internal financial reports.
• Manage employee expense reimbursements and credit card reconciliations, while serving as the primary point of contact for employee benefits administration and record-keeping.
• Partner with the CFO on annual audit preparations and Form 990 materials, while continuously identifying opportunities to automate workflows, improve internal controls, and streamline accounting processes.
• Provide intermittent finance, reconciliation, and financial reporting support contributing to cash flow tracking, variance analysis, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
• CPA or Higher Ed preferred
• 4+ years' of transactional and GL accounting experience
• Non-Profit accounting experience ideal
