A.  Job Summary: This position serves as the Payroll Manager's primary operational partner and technical payroll subject matter expert. The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for supporting all aspects of payroll operations while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of payroll data through proactive auditing, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement. The role provides advanced expertise in Workday Payroll, balancing timekeeping data, auditing payroll calculations, supporting union payroll administration, validating payroll integrations, and leading payroll quality assurance initiatives.

Essential Job Qualifications

      1.   Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred; Associate degree with equivalent experience considered.

      2.   Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressive payroll experience. Minimum three (3) years of Workday Payroll experience. Experience with UKG Workforce Management (UKG/Kronos) timekeeping. Experience processing high-volume payroll in a healthcare or similarly complex environment. Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance. Experience auditing payroll, reconciling payroll results, and troubleshooting payroll systems.

      3.   Training/Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred

      4.   Licensure: n/a

      5.   Other: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis). Healthcare payroll experience, union payroll administration experience, Workday or UKG experience preferred.

      2.   Essential Physical and Cognitive Demands, Manual Dexterity: Ability to work at a computer for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 15-20 pounds; ability to move throughout hospital locations as needed; occasional extended work hours during payroll processing, year-end, system implementations, or critical operational events.
