Fahrenheit Advisors is leading the search for a new position with our PE client in Clearwater FL. This is a great opportunity to be part of a high growth roll-up strategy and help build the accounting and finance function.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for owning core accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled financial reporting across the business. This role oversees Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), inventory management, and month-end close processes, while providing financial analysis and operational insight to support leadership decision-making.
This role will be part of a newly established corporate function supporting a group of companies recently acquired through a private equity-led roll-up strategy. While each company continues to operate under founder leadership on a day-to-day basis, the organization is actively transitioning toward a standardized and scalable operating model.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to design and implement accounting processes, systems, and controls that support the transition from a founder-led environment to a consolidated, multi-entity platform under private equity ownership. This role is best suited for individuals who thrive in rapidly evolving environments and are comfortable building structure where processes may not yet exist.
This position will be onsite at an office in Clearwater, FL at least 3 days a week with some hybrid flexibility. The Senior Accountant will report to a Controller and currently supports 5 operating companies. This position will be ideal for someone with start-up or private-equity experience who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and who can build structure as you go.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Own and manage the monthly close process including journal entries and reconciliations
- Ensure financials are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Maintain audit-ready account reconciliations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies across systems
- Prepare variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Oversee invoice processing, coding, approvals, and vendor management
- Manage vendor payments (ACH, check, credit card)
- Monitor AP aging and working capital impact
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Manage 1099 reporting and compliance
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Manage invoicing and cash application including third-party portals
- Monitor AR aging and execute collections processes
- Resolve discrepancies related to deposits and customer balances
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and costing
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances
- Implement inventory controls and procedures
Financial Analysis
- Analyze revenue, margins, labor, and inventory trends
- Identify and explain variances and outliers
- Support forecasting and budgeting processes
Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain data integrity across systems
- Design and document scalable accounting processes
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure consistency
- Support system implementations and integrations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct preferred)
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
Preferred
- Experience in Home Services and ServiceTitan
- Experience in acquisition integrations or multi-entity environments
- Private equity experience
