Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and the Associate Vice President of Finance, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting executive decision-making through strategic financial analysis, planning, and project management. This position is responsible for developing and monitoring key institutional performance indicators, preparing executive financial reports and projections, evaluating the financial viability of strategic initiatives and partnerships, conducting peer benchmarking and higher education finance research, and identifying opportunities to enhance financial reporting through automation and business intelligence. The Senior Accountant also assists with financial planning initiatives, risk assessment, contract review and vendor negotiations, including RFP processes, supports the implementation of recommendations from Marginal Revenue Analysis (MRA), monitors APETs and proformas, and contributes to strategic projects dedicated to strengthening the University's financial performance, operational effectiveness, and long-term success.

Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a master's degree, or a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field combined with five to ten years of progressive finance or accounting experience, is required. Prior experience in higher education or nonprofit finance and knowledge of related fiscal policies and procedures is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, exceptional analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently while consistently meeting established deadlines is essential.
