Senior Accountant: Keep the numbers strong so the mission stays strong
180 Degrees runs on more than good intentions, it runs on solid financial infrastructure. As our Senior Accountant, you're the person who makes sure every dollar is tracked, every grant requirement is met, and every leader has the accurate financial insight they need to make confident decisions. Your work behind the numbers is what keeps our mission-driven programs running strong.
This role sits at the center of a genuinely complex funding structure: federal and state grants, foundation funding, and county per diem billing all rolled into one organization's financial operations. You bring order and accuracy to that complexity, ensuring full compliance while giving leadership the clear financial picture they need to plan ahead. Experience as an auditor is a strong plus, especially given the compliance-heavy nature of this role.
What you'll actually do:
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, and foundation grant requirements
- Manage per diem billing from counties with accuracy and consistency
- Support leadership with accurate financial reporting and strategic insights
- Navigate a complex, multi-source funding structure with precision and confidence
- Serve as a trusted financial resource across the organization
Why 180 Degrees:
- Be part of a mission-driven organization where your financial expertise directly protects vital funding and programming
- Take ownership of complex, high-stakes financial operations across multiple funding sources
- Work closely with leadership, providing insights that shape real organizational decisions
- Make an impact that reaches every program 180 Degrees runs, working hand-in-hand with the teams delivering direct care
This role is for you if:
You're precise, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing complexity across multiple funding streams. You know that strong compliance isn't a limitation, it's what protects the mission. You want your accounting expertise to matter beyond the balance sheet. And you're looking for meaningful work where financial excellence directly supports people doing life-changing work every day.
This is a full-time, onsite position, in-office four days per week, 1.0 FTE. No direct reports, but direct impact on the financial foundation of the entire organization.
Qualifications

- A clear understanding of GAAP and demonstrated accounting knowledge
- Experience with and knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- 3-5 years of senior accounting in a non-profit organization required
Essential Competencies:
- Use of Intacct software preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external agencies
- Solid problem-solving and team-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain cooperative relationships
- Ability to operate in rapidly changing or ambiguous circumstances
- Strong self-management and time management skills
