Core Functions:
Ensure Pioneer facilities have current and complete documentation in support of quality processes. Identify and expedite opportunities to build efficiency and consistency across Pioneer facilities. Monitor and ensure compliance with programs including, but not limited to:
SOPs on key processes Regulatory Authorities’ codes and standards Third-party quality audits PM programs on quality equipment Risk Grids Product recall and notification requirements
Review overall Pioneer staffing requirements related to the areas of quality and make staffing recommendations to support changing regulatory and customer requirements. Conduct and/or provide oversight for regular inspections of all Pioneer facilities, discuss findings with the site management and work with site leadership to develop appropriate action plans. Establish and maintain effective, consistent, measurable, and auditable protocols for the following plant operations: manufacturing, performance testing, compliance with all regulatory bodies, vendor certification, inbound inspections of raw materials, and lot tracking. Support other departments to ensure awareness of relevant regulatory developments and quality standards across the Pioneer organization. Develop KPIs that enable data-driven decisions and ongoing quality and compliance improvement.
Key Job Duties:
Lead quality initiatives for Pioneer to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of established quality metrics. Associated activities will include, but not be limited to:
Lead investigations and drive resolutions of quality issues. Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party quality audit services. Develop and lead Pioneer-wide product recall program. Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops Pioneer leadership and Quality plant personnel on quality programs and initiatives.
Functions as the Subject Matter Expert on quality and processes, including, regulatory codes, auditing, manufacturing, and critical/preventive control points. Serve as the primary quality point of contact and information resource for internal employees, customers, vendors and regulatory bodies. Leverage analytical skillset to support and track quality initiatives. Assist in planning for capital projects or operational changes and expansions. Establish new KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of procedural and equipment changes. Responsible for setting process and quality standards to maintain a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with Pioneer’s sales teams to manage, investigate, and resolve customer complaints related to quality and safety. Track processes to monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions. Lead and oversee training programs, ensuring employees are trained on SOPs, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and best practices. Organize and assist with on-site and off-site customer visits as needed. Support the supply chain team and shipping department as needed With the approval of supervisor, take a role in regulatory committees such as ASME or National Board. All other duties as assigned.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related technical field, or an equivalent work history. Working knowledge of ASME, API, DOT, NBIC, and federal/state/local Regulations and codes. Experience as a weld inspector or knowledge of welding practices is desired. Demonstrates ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to Pioneer Industrial operations. Exhibits ability to interpret quality audits, test results and define/communicate corrective actions needed. Demonstrates ability to work at all levels of the Pioneer organization to influence leaders. Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills. 25% domestic travel
